The summer is at its peak. Everyone is sweating. You don't feel like coming out of your air conditioned room. Suddenly your little one comes with a big list of guest for the most important day of the year - his Birthday. Since he is the host the party should be the best. After all his reputation is at its stake so you would also like to throw the best party for your little prince /princess.

Is thinking of the party, especially in summers, giving you the goose bumps? Read on to out an end to all that may trouble you and have a party the children will remember for a long time. Follow these simple tips:

Food Rules: Plan your menu according to the age group of your child. if he is in the age group of 0-6 keep the food uncomplicated. Have finger foods such as French fries, Chinese toast, veg/non-veg spring rolls, sponge cake jelly, pancakes and ice cream. Now all these things are such that you won't have to sweat yourself in the kitchen and the children would be happy. The drinks should be non-alcoholic and easy to make - preferably well before the arrival of the guests.

The next category of children- teenagers are easy to handle as they can eat all sorts of meals. If planning a party at home, layout yourdining room table with fast foods like burgers and pizzas to attract their taste buds. However, be informed that they enjoy the most if the venue is in a restaurant or a park.

Decor Rules: Leave your house as it is, don't over embellish it- unless you are having some theme party. Since the most important part is the cake-cutting and the eating is done in the dining room so the dining room furniture has to be decorated or shifted if need be. Hang a beautiful hand made lamp on your dining table for giving some special effects to the party. Do not arrange the dining room chairs around the table even if the children are less. The arrangements should be a buffet as the children like to eat when they sit together. The dining chairs should be arranged in such a way that they can gossip or enjoy while eating. Since the children tend to spoil your expensive table tops so its advisable to keep the table pads under the serving dishes. Avoid mosquito coils or repellents: - use scented candles instead. There should be sufficient lights at different heights.

Dim the lights for an indoor party as they may cause heat. Use fresh water to wet concrete ground or lawns several hours before the party to lower the temperature.

Conversation Rules: Introduce all the little ones by their names to the other guests. It's better to listen than to talk in your own party. Ensure that everyone's glass is full and the snacks are equally distributed, as children may hesitate to take a second helping.

Games: Arrange a few games to make the party lively. Look up a good children's guide to get suggestions. Better still - ask your little one what game he would like his friends to play - you may well be surprised at his ingenuity.

Go ahead and enjoy the party. Its your special one's birthday - so it is well justified for you to go ahead and have a blast!
